Who we are
This website is operated by HnH HARDWARE Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 17388869, with its registered office at 4a Oak Vale, Liverpool, L13 5YQ. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about your data at help@hnhhardware.com.
Information we collect
- Order and account information: your name, delivery and billing addresses, email address, phone number, order history and account login details.
- Age verification information: the details needed to confirm you are 18 or over, such as your name, date of birth and address, and, if requested, a copy of your photographic ID.
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or through our contact form.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected through server logs and the cookies described in our cookie policy.
How we use it and our lawful basis
- To process, deliver and support your orders, and to manage returns (performance of a contract).
- To verify your age before dispatching age-restricted products, and to keep records of those checks (legal obligation and our legitimate interest in complying with age-restriction laws).
- To prevent fraud and keep our website secure (legitimate interests).
- To keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
- To reply to your enquiries (legitimate interests).
- To send you marketing emails, only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time (consent).
Who we share it with
We share your information only where necessary, with:
- our payment provider, to take payment;
- our age verification provider, to confirm you are 18 or over;
- delivery companies, to deliver your order;
- our website hosting and email providers, who store data on our behalf;
- professional advisers, and authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.
How long we keep it
We keep order and transaction records for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, to meet our tax and accounting obligations. Age verification records are kept for as long as needed to demonstrate compliance with the law. Contact form messages are kept for up to two years. Account information is kept until you ask us to close your account, subject to the records we must keep by law.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. To use any of these rights, email help@hnhhardware.com. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
